Provides strategic consultation and implementation support to GAVI Alliance, Global Fund, and USAID for the implementation of an executive leadership program, STEP 2.0 Leadership, which provides online and face-to-face training to public health supply chain managers and personnel to help them improve efficiency and performance. Courses are focused on priority donors' countries and were offered predominantly in sub-Saharan Africa with a self-initiated course in Uganda.
Support the African Pharmaceutical Distribution Association (APDA), based in Morocco, to help this pan-African group realize its potential to serve as a strong platform for information exchanges and the development of the private sector for medicines on the Continent. As it is further established, APDA will advocate for improvements in access to medicines, safer and more secure medicines supply chains, to increase localized manufacturing and for greater public-private partnerships in healthcare systems. IFPW Foundation serves as an Advisor to the APDA Board and its various Committees. It also leverages the experiences and resources of IFPW-member companies that are willing to help strengthen African markets.
Supports Fight the Fakes Alliance, a Swiss association, in raising awareness around the issue of counterfeit, falsified, and substandard medicines and the dangers they pose to patients worldwide. Financial dues are paid which allows a related organization, International Federation of Pharmaceutical Wholesalers, Inc. (IFPW), to serve on the Executive Board of the association and provide strategic direction to the Alliance's programs and efforts. Dues also support the Secretariat, whose functions are performed by a public affairs agency located in Belgium.
