Ifred continued updates of its website, ifred.org. Ifred's founder spoke at several online events, teaching the science of hope and advocating for more funding and resources for treatment of depression and reduction of the stigma attached to the illness. Ifred's founder also served on several global advisory boards,and operate its 9,000-plus member online support group, along with the social media networks educating on the importance of brain health.
Ifred launched the first-ever hopeful cities campaign, a program aimed at teaching the science of hope citywide. Ifred provided 11,000 curriculum booklets to the washoe county school district and boys and girls club and continued to offer the curriculum free online. It also created a 10-day global hope challenge, and 30-day global hope challenge. Ifred continued its hopeful minds program, based on the idea that hope is a teachable skill. Ifred published several papers on the use of the program in northern ireland and malaysia, and showcased positive impact of an increase in hope, and reduction of anxiety and depressive symptoms, for children that went through the program. Ifred's team rewrote the program based on new research, and garnered attention from the national pga and anthem's 'shine light on depression' program. Ifred also created a parent's guide, so parents can start using hope language at home. All materials are free for download at www.hopefulminds.org.
