Program areas at Impact Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services
Impact 2-1-1 is a central access point for people in need. During times of personal crisis or community disaster the free confidential helpline and online resource directory make it easy for residents to get connected to information and assistence. Impact 2-1-1 serves milwaukee, racine, kenosha, ozaukee, and Washington counties in southeastern Wisconsin; and collaborates with a network of Other 2-1-1 call centers throughout the state and the nation. Number of people served in 2023: 258,631.
Impact Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services offers free and confidential Alcohol and Drug consultations and assessments performed by certified counselors and Other aoda professionals. Clients may contact Impact for themselves or on behalf of a loved one. Counselors are available by phone to talk though the situation with the client, clearly identify the problem, assess the severity, help the client assemble a plan of action, and connect the client with the appropriate resources. Uninsured milwaukee county residents in need of substance Abuse treatment contact Impact's central intake office and get screened to determine their eligibility for milwaukee county funding. Milwaukee county residents convicted of operating while intoxicated (owi) must obtain an assessment at Impact as part of the process to regain their driver's license. Impact also provides assessment Services for Other court-ordered assessments, (i.e., probation and parole, possession charges, underage violators, etc.) Court-ordered clients must pay a fee for Impact's Services. Number of persons served in 2023: 3,177.
Impact provides the milwaukee continuum of care with hud defined coordinated entry Services to assist in getting the most vulnerable people placed first in the shelter system through the use of the 2-1-1 call center. Number of persons served in 2023: 4,984.
