Participant services: Housing Options provides a network of support services to adults recovering from mental illnesses. Individuals receive professional services from the agency's team of social workers, counselors, case managers, employment staff and one psychiatrist. the service team offers ongoing social work, psychiatric, mental Health, rehabilitation, employment and case management services as well as job coaching, life skills training, money management and recreational and socialization activities to people recovering from mental illnesses.
Building management: Housing Options owns eight apartment buildings and leases approximately 20 additional apartments throughout the city of Evanston, the village of skokie, and the city of des plaines. the agency owns or leases property in eight of nine wards in Evanston. the organization fully furnishes and equips all of it's apartments with furniture, appliances, linens and dishes. Most residents live in studio, one, two or three bedroom apartments, but each has his or her own bedroom. To help ensure that Housing is affordable to residents, rent is paid on a sliding scale. Housing Options subsidizes rents so that residents are able to concentrate on their recovery. As many residents have been homeless at some point in their lives, providing a safe and comfortable home is essential to the recovery process. the agency prides itself on the way in which it maintains its buildings. the buildings blend into their neighborhoods and are exceptionally well maintained. Support services are offered to all persons residing in Housing Options owned or leased Housing.
