Program areas at Impact NV
The 10 Year, 100,000 Tree Program is an effort to plant 100,000 trees in Nevada by 2032. Green Chips partners with jurisdictions, school districts, utilities, etc. to plant drought tolerant, adaptive species trees on public land in Nevada in communities with low tree equity scores and high heat vulnerability. The goal is to increase tree canopy and environmental justice through better access to green spaces, improved air quality, reduced heat island effect, community investment, and improved mental and physical health outcomes.
Shared Future Fund is no longer a social equity impact fund, however it is the umbrella for all of Green Chips social sustainability work. This includes homelessness and human trafficking. Green Chips actively participates in the data group of the southern NV continuum of care as well as continues the operation and leadership of the Nevada Policy Council on Human Trafficking.
ConveneNV is Green Chips annual signature event that brings together local, state, regional, and national leaders to celebrate the successes of the past year and address the most critical sustainability challenges of the future. It consists of a VIP Reception the evening prior for speakers, sponsors, and Green Chips trustees to start the conversation via an intimate fireside chat with hig-hlevel speakers. The next day is a half day event of informational and educational panel discussions around three or four important sustainability focus areas. The event culminates in a reception for all attendees to enjoy food and beverage and discuss the topics of the day.
