Program areas at Independent Community Living

We strive to provide individually tailored supports that assist people to live in their own home, family home, or other home in the Community. Individual supports include self-directed supports (self-determination) or enhanced family supports such as personal assistance, self-advocacy, skill development, social and leisure services, support planning and coordination, and other individually determined supports based on an indivdual support plan and individual budget. It is essential that each person have a network of support chosen by him or her. This can take a toll on family and friends who at times step in and assist with the role as an employer. (continued on schedule o) support is based on each participant's person centered plan goals and consists of any number of services including but not limited to: bathing, grooming, toileting, medication assistance, cooking and feeding, Community inclusion, time and money management. All services will be provided to enrich the participant's life and ensure their ability to live in their own home and can be provided in home as well as in a Community setting. In order for each participant to have a positive experience, we train our staff in accordance with their current plan goals. The initial and continuous training is our key to providing excellent care. Each support staff receives training in general areas such as cpr, first aid, recipient rights, and gentle teaching. Independent Community Living (icl) assumes all the responsibility and as the "employer of record" for each participant's staff, we complete hiring requirements, including criminal background checks, collect time sheets and service documentation, and maintain payroll for staff. Icl is responsible for workers compensation and other benefits. By icl handling all the necessary requirements to maintain support staffs, each participant can then complete the most important job of all, choosing who will support them and how their dreams can be achieved.
