The Indiana Family Health Council, Inc is a title x grantee in Indiana and Illinois. In 2022, ifhc funded and worked with 13 agencies in Indiana to provide Family planning services in 28 clinics including three clinics directly operated by ifhc in indianapolis, marion and new castle. The clinics are open to all regardless of religion, race, color, national origin, disability, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identify, sex characteristics, number of pregnancies, marital status, income, or Health insurance. Services are available on a sliding fee scale. In 2022, 13,316 unduplicated clients received Family planning services through 24,624 clinical visits. 61.75% of the clients were at or below poverty and were provided the service at no charge. In 2022, the program not only provided a wide range of fda approved contraceptives but also provided 3,090 pap smears, 3,176 breast exams, 11,024 gonorrhea/chlamydia tests, 3,807 syphilis tests, and 7,022 hiv tests to clients in Indiana. Ifhc was awarded for the title x grant in late september 2020 to provide Family planning and reproductive Health services in nine counties in illinois.ifhc started preparing for opening two clinics and one mobile unit in Illinois during the covid-19 pandemic; charleston Family planning center started seeing clients in mid-2022.
The Indiana Family Health Council, Inc. (ifhc) receives the social services block grant and temporary assistance for needy families funds awarded by the Indiana department of Health (idoh) for use in 13 agencies for the Indiana title x program. The programs have merged services and monitoring activities under ifhc. Starting october 2009, ifhc, idoh, Family and social services administration, and department of child services formed the Indiana Family planning partnership which placed all of the federal Family planning funds under the management of the Indiana Family Health Council. All services stated in the title x description are applicable to the idoh grant.
