Program areas at IHCA
Legislative: ihca is the largest trade Association in the state of Indiana representing skilled nursing and assisted living providers. As such, ihca is heavily engaged in advocacy efforts in the legislative and regulatory arenas. Ihca updates members via written and electronic communications on a weekly basis, and often on a more frequent basis, when the Indiana general assembly is in session. Members of ihca are also individually engaged in legislative and regulatory advocacy via the Association's organization of those activities. Ihca maintains a staff of registered lobbyists and contracts with outside firms to provide additional support for the Association's advocacy efforts.
Regulatory: ihca's regulatory services include monitoring for compliance with current laws and regulations regarding licensure and payment for services rendered, assistance with ongoing compliance, interaction with regulatory agencies, and coordination with other providers that touch the nursing facility and assisted living facility profession. The regulatory services provide quarterly education sessions for members and also include the operation of two standing committees of the Association: the regulatory/clinical committee and the payment/reimbursement committee.
Education: ihca is a leading provider of operational and clinical education for the nursing facility and assisted living facility profession in Indiana, providing more than 50 educational events in 2023. Ihca's goal is to provide the most cutting edge education that is offered in the state. Ihca often addresses new topics as government agencies add and change regulations or as new clinical patterns emerge that require attention. Ihca's education programming is published via written and electronic media and is offered to both members and non-members.
