Indiana Model United Nations Inc. purchased flight tickets, ground transportation, lodging and conference fees for 28 volunteer members of the organization to attend the Boston Area Model United Nations Conference. These members represented a wide array of positions and debated numerous historical and contemporary topics of international significance. Members prepared extensively by researching their assigned position, committee, and topic. They spent four days in Boston, Massachusetts debating for 2-10 hours Per day these issues and potential resolutions to them. They gained experience in public speaking, negotiation, debate, and greater awareness of international affairs, policymaking, and the functioning of the United Nations. The hosting institution gave awards to the highest performing participants. Indiana Model United Nations’ representatives earned 6 individual awards and the delegation was ranked 4th overall at the event. This contributed to the team’s overall ranking of 15th in North America for the 2018-2019 year
