Program areas at Inequality Media

Im produces and distributes educational online videos. We reach millions of people each week with clear, compelling videos and broadcasts about the economy and democracy - and what people can do to put america on a path toward a fairer and more just society. Our videos seek to: 1) explain current economic and civic issues in a way that everyone can understand. 2) contextualize policies, news, and concepts being promoted widely by providing frameworks of understanding in a non-partisan, educational way, and 3) build a shared understanding of the importance of a more equal economy and robust democracy. (continues below)
(continued) "explainer- and rapid-response video topics include wealth Inequality, corporate concentration, inflation, the us tax system, the climate crisis, the gender pay gap, voting rights, and economic history. They often debunk common myths surrounding these topics. Videos are distributed through the social Media channels (facebook, youtube, instagram, tiktok and twitter) of Inequality Media, robert reich, and partner organizations. In 2023 we continued producing content for tiktok and instagram, reaching even more people on these platforms, including millennials and gen z-ers, who likely would not have otherwise watched our videos.
(continued) most of our videos feature former secretary of labor robert reich as well as other public figures and policy experts, such as solana rice, a leader in organizing for racial and economic justice. In 2023, we produced over 40 explainer videos and over 20 short, rapid response videos, which received a combined 50+ million views. Over the life of the organization, we have produced over 1,000 videos - plus 320+ live broadcasts - which have been viewed over 500 million times. We have over 9 million followers that include viewers from every state in the nation. Our videos are made for the general public, but they are also used in college courses, and at congressional hearings.
