Program areas at Informed Families the Florida Family Partnership
Informed families' programs focus on drug prevention and Family support, with the goal of empowering Florida's youth to make healthy choices. We utilize a variety of strategies to achieve this, including education, community mobilization, and school-based programs. Community mobilization is critical to helping kids grow up safe, healthy, and drug-free, as it brings together parents, schools, community organizations, and local leaders to work together towards creating a supportive environment that fosters positive youth development and reduces risk factors associated with substance abuse. By engaging the entire community, we create a network of support that reinforces healthy messages and strengthens prevention efforts. In the past year, we have reached 2,574,488 Florida children and families with targeted messaging, participated in over 167 events and trainings to engage with the community directly, and secured the participation of 23 major Florida landmarks in lighting up red for red ribbon week, including the Florida state capitol. We also received 30 entries for the red ribbon week photo contest and announced two winners, certified 5 new red ribbon certified schools in Florida, bringing the total to over 90 schools nationwide, and received 41 entries for the Family day photo contest, with three Family winners and one school winner. While some achievements are difficult to quantify, our efforts have contributed to a greater awareness of drug prevention and healthier choices among Florida's youth. We have fostered a sense of community involvement and empowered schools to create safer, more supportive learning environments. Our ongoing commitment to these goals continues to positively impact individuals, families, and communities across Florida.
