Program areas at Inland Empire Harm Reduction

Chri program:syringe service program is offered to the community and includes the following services: disposal of syringes and other equipment, access to sterile syringes and other equipment, linkage to care for substance use disorder when requested, linkage to healthcare and other social services. Within this program we have an outreach activity, which includes a bimonthly activity which entails visiting homeless encampments to distribute water, food and safe injection/use equipment when needed. We also ask residents if they have any equipment that we can dispose of and clean the area of any syringe litter. 35,451 syringes were collected. 51,632 safe use/supply kits were distributed
Research:partnership with local academic institutions to collaborate on research related to substance use and other public health topics, such as stis, hiv, hcv, and mental health.
Naloxone distribution program consists of distribution of narcan kits and training people on how to identify a possible overdose situation and administer nasal narcan. 19,764 doses of naloxone were distributed. 141 free overdose prevention trainings were provided, with 833 individuals being trained. 574 overdose reversals were reported by participants. 8,257 meals were distributed.
