Caring Hands Soup Kitchen - is a program that provides food and fellowship to people in need. Our soup kitchen is open every Saturday for the past 31 years. We serve a hot meal to a diverse group of people 10-15 per week, including homeless, unemployed, working poor, public assistance recipients, elderly and many with health problems and disabilities. In 2022 we served 671 meals and fed people 52 Saturdays and gave out 2,600 bags of groceries.
Compassion Franklin Elementary - This year we have focused on helping individuals and families move from surviving to Thriving We have adopted a local elementary school and have partnered with the principal and faculty in order to reach students and their families. Several students have come into our ASP because of this. The first day of school we gave the students pencil cases and pencils. For Christmas we provided lunch for 40 faculty members and provided presents to all 260 children. They in turn have had student groups come out and do our community meal and collected food for our food pantry. We are seeing relationship built and changed lives as a result of this partnership.
Claude Street Shelter - provides short-term housing 90 days maximum for individuals and families in need of emergency shelter. This program also includes assistance in locating housing and assistance with food and clothing through our soup kitchen and Dream Center. The program housed 34 individuals, representing 11 families during 2022.
