Inc staffs the boston green ribbon commission. The mission of the green ribbon commission (grc) is to convene leaders from boston's key sectors * business, education, health care, civic society, finance, real estate, professional services, tourism and others to support the outcomes of the city's climate action plan. The climate action plan has two primary goals:*achieve carbon neutrality by 2050*prepare the city for climate changes (such as sea level rise, extreme heat, and extreme storms)the commission plays three important roles in advancing the regional vision for climate action:*advise the city on the implementation of its climate action plan. *engage sector leadership in aligning their assets and initiatives to support the plan outcomes. *highlight and promote best practice examples within and across sectors that advance the climate action plan goals.
The apolitical initiative provides an education and networking platform for civil servants and policymakers. Consistent with Inc's mission, the purpose of apolitical's "government climate action accelerator" initiative is to upskill 50,000 public servants in the highest impact topics, roles, and countries for cutting emissions by 50% this decade.
Inc serves as the project incubator for the building electrification institute (bei). Through this initiative, bei equips cities across north america with the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to implement strategies to accelerate the transition of building heating, cooling, and hot water systems away from fossil fuels and toward high efficiency electric options. They do this by working with networks of cities to implement new programs and policies that simultaneously create local and regional demand for heat pump technologies while also building an inclusive supply chain with qualified installers. The project also works with cities to advocate for the broader suite of state, regional, and federal policies that will be necessary to require the transition away from fossil fuels.
Inc's other program services included partnerships and consulting engagements with other various non-profit and governmental agencies in helping formulate initiatives surrounding various educational, enviromental, and health care related issues.
