Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership empowers and connects leaders to tackle Georgia's environmental challenges. Through rigorous immersive educational experiences, it equips Georgia leaders with the environmental knowledge, perspectives, and relationships they need to lead our state for decades to come. Igel is an experimental program dedicated to building and sustaining a diverse network of environmentally educated leaders in the state of Georgia, providing these leaders with knowledge and advanced skills.

Program areas at Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership

In addition to running its year long, 5 seminar leadership program for over 30 diverse leaders from across the state of Georgia, IGEL leadership conducted two alumni issues/networking sessions during 2023. One addressed the environmental and cultural history of Stone Mountain and one addressed landfill and solid waste issues throughout the state.
