Program areas at IWPR

Research and action hub: this program provides Research and disseminates information on issues including job quality (access to and quality of employment benefits such as paid maternity, parental, and family and medical leave), workplace flexibility (such as job sharing and flexible schedules), child care, and international comparison of work-family policies.
Race, gender, ethnicity, and the economy: this program conducts original Research and Policy analysis using intersectional and racial equity frameworks to better understand the experiences of women of color, their families and communities in the economy and society.throughout the year, we organize convenings, symposia, and roundtables with national leaders, scholars, and practitioners and other key stakeholders on issues related to race, ethnicity, gender and the economy.
Economic security, mobility and equity: iwpr's economic security, mobility, and equity initiative highlights the extent of pay inequalities in the u.s. labor market, the role of occupational segregation and discriminatory employment practices in perpetuating unequal pay and racial and ethnic gender inequities, and the lack of a comprehensive care infrastructure in reducing Women's advancement and economic security. It also provides Research on the effects of good jobs and work family policies on the well-being of workers, families, businesses, and communities.
Center on economics of reproductive health: this program seeks to advance public understanding and awareness of the link between access to reproductive health care services for women and their long-term economic security and well-being. We conduct original Research and Policy analysis at the intersections of race, ethnicity, class, and reproductive health to improve economic outcomes, and educational and employment opportunities for all women.s related to race, ethnicity, gender and the economy.
Student parent success initiative: this program conducts Research and Policy analysis, provides technical expertise and assistance, and communicates its Research and builds partnerships to lift up the voices of students with children and increase equity in higher education for student parents and other underserved student populations.
Institutional programmatic support: institutional support is multi-year funding provided to enable iwpr to apply the funds flexibly, where most needed, or where a particular focus may cut across a variety of Research areas. The funds are typically applied to various Research areas when products are urgently needed, but are also used to support general needs of Research or other programs at iwpr, such as support for interns and fellows or for database or library resources, website development, and new hardware or software.
