Program areas at Interbranch Special Projects Foundation of Santa Clara County ISPF Ispf-Aauw
College costs have doubled over the past 20 years, and financial assistance is more important than ever. Applicants are residents of Santa Clara County, ca. Sholarships are rewarded to women to help them pursue a college or other leadership certificate. Recipients are selected based on academic record, essays, recommendations and interviews. A total of 66 scholarships and award were made. Following the scholarship awards, recipients are offered, through the national Aauw organization, workshops and other resourses to enhance their professional and economic success after college.
Community services - several Projects have helped thousands of local low-income women and children. Gift bags were given to 600 low-income teenagers; assisstance was provided to several homeless shelters and emergency food providers; thanksgiving dinner and monthly lunches were given to many homeless women; supplies were provided for organizations helping the homeless; and recreation and refreshments were provided at residential facilities for the mentally disabled. Financial assistance was provided for several community programs addressing literacy and educational needs.
Tech trek - tech trek is a residential or virtual science and math campfor girls who have finished 7th grade. Campers must be recommended by their science or math teachers, complete an application form, and attend an interview. In-person camps are eld on college campuses. Thirty-one (31) girls participated in the in-person camp this year, and 6participated in the virtual camp. Money already allocated to tech trek in previous years was applied this year.
