THE UNION COLLECTS DUES FROM ITS 857 MEMBERS, A PORTION OF WHICH IS PASSED ON TO ITS STATE & NATIONAL AFFILIATES FOR SUPPORT & INFORMATION REGARDING ISSUES IMPORTANT TO THE MEMBERSHIP, e.g. THE LATEST FIREFIGHTING TECHNIQUES & EQUIPMENT, INFORMATION ON CURRENT LEGISLATIVE ISSUES AFFECTING FIREFIGHTERS, INFORMATION ON WHAT OTHER LOCALS ARE DOING AND ACCOMPLISHING IN NEGOTIATIONS, HEALTH & SAFETY, WORKERS COMPENSATION, ETC. THE STATE & LOCAL AFFILIATES ALSO REPRESENT THE INTERESTS OF THE LOCAL'S MEMBERS TO GOVERNMENTS AT THEIR LEVEL.
The organization sponsors a benevolent program for those members who chose to participate. Participants pay into the program through voluntary payroll deduction and receive an accumulated benefit at retirement. This year 33 retiring members benefited from this program.
The organization owns & maintains a facility that includes a meeting hall and offices to meet with members and carry on the business of the union.
