Program areas at International Citizen Diplomacy of Los Angeles

The International Citizen Diplomacy of Los Angeles, a private non-profit and non-partisan organization, increases International understanding and cooperation by arranging personal exchange between emerging International leaders and the citizens of greater Los Angeles. Each year close to a thousand visitors come to Los Angeles and experience our vitality and diversity through the programs icdla arranges. Icdla program officers coordinate meetings between International visitors and Los Angeles professionals within their field, as well as cultural excursions and social activities. The International visitors program benefits from the direct involvement of icdla members who recognize its value to themselves, their families, and their communities. These local hosts welcome visitors into their homes, drive them around town and take them to meet community leaders. This program provides the rare opportunity for an open exchange of ideas that challenges stereotypes and establishes lasting personal and professional relations that will shape tomorrow's decision made throughout the world. Currently forty-six chiefs-of-state or heads of government first came to the u.s. Through the International visitor program.the International Citizen Diplomacy of Los Angeles arranges one-on-one exchanges between local professionals and foreign opinion leaders who are carefully selected by u.s. embassies abroad. Icdla is supported by: corporate & individual member dues; local & federal grants; annual fund raising efforts; & income from programming (hotel commissions & fees from program agencies).
