Fundsida supports Documentary filmmakers annually through several thoughtfully designed and executed grant-making funds. These include the enterprise Documentary fund, which supports the quality of Documentary journalism; the pare lorentz Documentary fund, which supports artful, creative expression; and the logan elevate fund, which creates opportunities for women and non-binary nonfiction storytellers of color.in 2023, ida distributed $1,079,780, supporting a diverse slate of independent filmmakers and community-based Documentary organizations.
Fiscal sponsorshipida provides fiscal sponsorship for approved Documentary films and related projects and accepts grants and donations to support worthwhile projects that might otherwise have difficulty finding funding. In fy23, ida's fiscal sponsorship program supported 285 projects, totaling more than $8.7m in project support.
Artist services & education ida serves the Documentary community annually through a robust slate of programming and artist services that meet the broad, diverse needs of an International Documentary community. These include: docuclub, a screening series for works-in-progress films that offers filmmakers the opportunity for audience feedback on their projects; and year-round educational programming, including masterclasses and workshops providing unparalleled mentorship, training, and resources for filmmakers at all stages of their careers.we hold multiple annual events that welcome nonfiction filmmakers from all over the world, including the ida Documentary awards. In september 2022, we also held our biennial getting real conference, a unique gathering of Documentary filmmakers and industry professionals, which hosted 600 in-person participants and an additional 2,000 virtual participants from 69 countries.additionally, our Documentary magazine, published quarterly online and in print, attracts an annual International readership of more than 345,000 filmmakers, producers, distributors, exhibitors, commissioning editors, funders, educators, students, as well as International communities and fans of Documentary film.
