Program areas at CPR
In fiscal year 2024, the cpr Institute produced many programs, conferences, and resources to support corporations and law firms interested in resolving legal disputes beyond litigation. These included eight adr skills trainings, three substantive regional meetings, and numerous committee presentations on topics from ai in adr, dispute management boards and dei to addressing pfas disputes. The Institute also promulgated the first-ever guidelines for arbitrator disclosure to provide practical tips to assist arbitrators with recordkeeping and best practices in the disclosure process. The cpr Institute presented a virtual global conference and held its inaugural annual africa arbitration day conference in new york and organized another successful in-person International mediation competition in brazil, which included teams from 20 law schools from around the world. Nine full and partial scholarships were awarded to winners as part of the brazil competition. Cpr dispute Resolution provided a number of trainings for its panel of arbitrators as well as to advocates. The cpr annual conference was held in philadelphia and focused on the flexibility and party autonomy enjoyed with alternative dispute processes. The fiscal year ended with cpr's annual in person gala, where qualcomm and its general counsel were honored with the corporate leadership award for their efforts in implementing dispute Resolution into their corporate culture.
