Program areas at ISA
Training services and certifications: the Society offers a broad range of training topics from foundational knowledge to advanced concepts to companies and individuals involved in Automation. Training is offered at the Society's headquarters facility, at sites throughout the world, at customer locations, and through distance learning programs. The Society maintains two professional certification programs, certified control system technician (ccst) and certified Automation professional (cap), both with training and testing offerings. The Society derives revenue by charging training and certification participants registration and renewal fees to offset the cost of the programs. Trade media (automation.com): the Society produces digital media and advertising to assist Automation professionals to improve their factories and processes, solve problems, and improve production efficiencies by providing the most current industry news, information, and resources.
Member services: member services include all efforts to provide and support member benefits and the administration of leadership structure of the Society. This program includes dues revenue for Society membership and dues revenue for membership in divisions that specialize in specific technical interest areas of Automation (dues revenue shown on part viii, line 1b). Additional revenue is originated from royalties and the sale of logo merchandise. All expenses related to the Society governance, support of local sections, administrative meetings, and the support of volunteer efforts is included in this program.
Global cybersecurity alliance: the gca is a collaborative forum to advance cybersecurity awareness, education, readiness, and knowledge sharing. Membership is open to any organization involved in industrial cybersecurity. Initiatives include expanding the development and use of industry standards, creating education programs, advocating for awareness, and sensible approaches with world governments and regulatory bodies.
Events and conferences: Isa conferences, webinars, and Isa connect live sessionscover a variety of topics in industrial Automation by providing attendees with insight into key operational and business topics through online sessions, panels with liveq&a, exhibits, as well as networking and chat opportunities. The Isa Automation &leadership conference (alc) is the Automation event of the yearcombining isa'sleadership conference with the best technical presentations from its automationconference series into an unparalleled event experience.
Journals (intech): intech magazine digital and intech plus newsletter provide themost thought-provoking, in-depth, and credible coverage of automationtechnologies, applications, and strategies to help Automation professionals succeed.written for engineers, managers, and other Automation decision makers, the intechfamily of publications delivers practical solutions to Automation professionals' on-the-job challenges.
Standards: Isa standards help Automation professionals streamline processes andimprove industry safety, efficiency, and profitability. Over 150 standards reflect theexpertise from over 4,000 industry experts around the world. Since 1949, Isa hasbeen recognized as the expert source for Automation and control systems consensusindustry standards. More than 4,000 individuals cooperating with more than 140committees, subcommittees, working groups and task forces are involved in isastandards. They're developing standards in areas as diverse as ensuring the safety ofelectrical equipment used in hazardous locations to cost-savings for interfacesbetween industrial process control computers and subsystems.
Books and proceedings: books: Isa books bring you the most authoritative technicalresources in Automation. Relying on subject-matter experts in the field to write andreview books on current and emerging technologies and applications, Isa provides avariety of titles for engineers, technicians, managers, sales and marketingprofessionals, and academics. Isa transactions: Isa transactions is a journal ofadvances and state-of-the-art in the science and engineering of measurement andautomation, of value to leading-edge industrial practitioners and applied researchers.
Business development: the Society's strategic planning process identifies areas of focus for organizational growth based upon industry and member trends. Recently, cybersecurity, events, and partnerships were identified as areas for growth and strategic opportunities. As a result, the Society has focused its resources in developing markets for both existing and new product lines which support these initiatives.
