Local food purchasing assistance program - increasing access to local food and improving supply chain resiliency through partnerships with local producers and underserved communities.
Regional food initiative - Iowa Valley's overarching initiative to improve local and regional food system connections and opportunities. The Iowa Valley rc&d has contracts with usda to develop farm to school programs, provide food safety resources to area farmers, and social media coaching to farmers' market vendors and managers.
Johnson county historic poor farm - this program utilizes 160 acres of farmland in city limits to house several farm programs including a land access program, charitable food production areas, and garden education. More than 30,000 pounds of produce grown and distributed to several hunger relief agencies in johnson county.
