Program areas at Issachar Center

The Issachar Center equip program uses cohorts to prepare urban christian leaders at various stages of leadership to be 5 marks leaders: rooted in christ, professional in their calling, relentless in justice and reconciliation, healthy in relationships, and collective in approach. Their 6-session "called to govern" cohorts help leaders to discern their callings in light of the times and identify the personal work needed to live audaciously in leveraging their resources to build ecosystems that embody the kingdom of god. The year-long Issachar leadership collective infuses social capital into entrepreneurs and executives that have demonstrated effectiveness - eradicating isolation, turning like-minded and devoted individuals into a collaborative network, and providing tangible and nuanced training that integrates Issachar's 5 marks. Issachar's explore program last spring provided training and connections to help young leaders grow in faith, health, relationships, and leadership.during fiscal year 2023, Issachar equipped 6 leaders through the explore program, 9 through foundations/apprentice, 31 through career professionals and 14 through the Issachar leadership project.
The Issachar Center convene program connects urban christian leaders to move from isolation into a transformational newtork that sees, hears, and encourages them to continue the work god has called them to do. Their "common tables" gather leaders around best practices, diverse perspectives, and shared vocation, interests, or concerns that shape their work, families, and leadership. Dinner parties and annual events provide opportunities for their newwork and guests to get more deeply engaged in the Issachar community. Other activities, including elder gatherings, discernment circles, and guest presenters provide further opportunity for leaders to engage the Issachar community.during fiscal year 2023, Issachar convened 90 people through town halls and 65 through common tables.
