Program areas at Jaguar Pride Association
Claudia taylor johnson high school first opened in august of 2008. The campus was designed to serve up to 3,000 students. The campus includes 2 air-conditioned gymnasiums with complete support areas for athletics. Separate field/practice areas for tennis, football, baseball, softball, golf and soccer can be found on the 439,901 square foot facility. The campus improvement and maintenance service program related to the athletic education and athletic activities of the students enrich their unique experiences in a physically, emotionally, and academically safe environment.
More than 2,500 students have the opportunity to participate in the athletic programs offered at claudia t. johnson high school. These programs include baseball, basketball-boys, basketball-girls, cross country, football, golf, sccer-boys, soccer-girls, softball, special olympics, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field-boys, track and field-girls, volleyball, and wrestling. This program service provided equipment, uniforms, and the maintenance of these essential tools as required by each of the sport teams for it's athletes success and safety.
Team travel is an essential service program for each of the 16 sport teams represented at claudia t. johnson high school. Individual and team competition is an integral component of a successful athletic program for not only the athletes, but also the whole student body by allowing them the opportunity to become civically-minded individuals as team spirit and camaraderie develop. Travel requirements increase in relation to the success of the school's athletes.
2 scholarships were awarded to individual students for college and university attendance tuition and related expenses. A total of $2,500 in scholarships was awarded to 2 students attending Texas a&m university.
