James Agee Film Project

The main project of the James Agee Film Project has been to work on three educational films tor wide dissemination to schools librarles, universities, museums, and other institutions, as well as to the public through the public broadcasting system. The three film projects include a series of three films on the natural history and human history of trees, entitled The Truth About Trees; a series the history of religion in America entitled The American Pilgrimage; and lastly, a film about the relationships between Southern food and Southern history, which Is entitled At the Common Table. Work has included much research, writing, fllming and editing

Educational distribution of the films to schools, libraries, museums, community groups, the PBS network, the general public school teachers was held In 2013 on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Asheville, which was funded by a grant by the National Endowment for the Humanities

An associate artist program In which young artists are assisted In the development of thelr talents and crafts
