5th anniversary event - bridging cultures | inspiring futures: with the concept of "what Japan can bring to the world's music scene", the complimentary event will feature performances by world-renowned guitarist miyavi, along with rhythms by drummer yoyoka as well as the asano taiko drumming group, and the soulful resonance of tsugaru shamisen by mike penny.
Diversity in hollywood - an evening with george takei: hollywood legend george takei to share his own journey as an actor and activist, and how he views the development of diversity, equity, and inclusion in entertainment and beyond. Joining takei was award-winning ktla news anchor frank buckley, who facilitated a conversation about the importance of diverse voices and perspectives in storytelling. After the program, guests were invited to join an intimate reception for networking and made new connections.
Setting the holiday table - a celebration of diversity through cuisine: this event highlighted the role of food as a valuable bridge between communities in the diverse landscape of los angeles. Participants from the african american, armenian american, japanese american, and peruvian american communities presented their respective cuisines, particularly those that are part of holiday gatherings.
