Description
Japanese American Citizens League New Mexico Chapter is a cultural and civic rights group. They conduct an on-going project called CLOE to educate the public about the World War II internment of Japanese Americans in New Mexico. They provide information at various events throughout the state. They also organized The Big Read, a 4-week long event that included book readings, film festivals, and discussions based on Julie Otsuka's book When the Emperor Was Divine. Several hundred people attended the event.
