The organization, in conjunction with the american association of teachers of Japanese, japan Foundation los angeles and consulate-general of japan in los angeles, hosted its annual all usa high school Japanese speech contest. The contest provided opportunities for young learners of Japanese to make presentations in Japanese and to inspire more students to improve their proficiency in Japanese and encourage them to further their understanding of japan, its people, and its culture. In addition, the organization hosted a variety of community events in order to promote interest in the Japanese Language among the american people and to raise awareness of the culture and Language of japan.
