Program areas at Jefferson County Animal Welfare League
JCAWL operates an "in-the-street" program, for cats. JCAWL helps stray cats, street cats, and poor people who need our assistance to help their cats. JCAWL practices "TNR" ("Trap-Neuter-Return"). According to the website Neighborhood Cats | How to TNR | What is TNR? "TNR is the most humane and effective method known for managing feral and stray cats." In 2022, JCAWL helped two hundred and seventy-five (275) cats or animals, and twenty five (25) individuals or families who needed assistance with their cats or animals.
