Program areas at Jewish Family Services

Older adult Services: this program provides multiple Services to older adults. Aging-in-place helps older adults live independently for as long as possible. Care management helps seniors and their families navigate the aging journey. Help@home provides 24/7 access to dependable household repairs, computer troubleshooting, and more. Jet express provides safe and reliable door-to-door transportation.
Counseling: this program is for all ages and addresses behavioral problems, depression, eating disorders, relationship challenges, grief, and more. In-home counseling is available for housebound older adults. In addition, the agency leads the greater Kansas city mental healthcoalition to address the stigma of mental illness.
Pantry: this program assists families and individuals in need of essential food items such as grains, dairy, protein, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables. The pantry offers both vaad-supervised kosher and non-kosher food items.
Shelter, employment and social work: this program provides information and referrals, conection with community resources, collaborative problem solving, and direct financial assistance to families dealing with financial emergencies that threaten their ability to meet their basic needs. A range of funds allows strategic financial assistance directed to help families get back on their feet. The program also serves as an access point to Services such as the food pantry, low interest loans, legal support, budgeting, financial planning, and others. Other programs: other programs include the chaplaincy program and partner programs.
