Refugee resettlement: refugee resettlement is a government funded program ensuring the safe arrival and resettlement of refugees and humanitarian parolees from around the world. Individuals and families are connected to housing, public benefits, esl, and job opportunities. Each program within refugee resettlement helps clients in different phases of their arrival and post arrival needs.
Supermarketing for seniors: a free nondiscriminatory grocery shopping and case management program established in 1986 in response to the needs of a growing number of frail and elderly Greenwich residents who wanted to continue living in their own homes but could no longer do so without access to groceries. 98% of our 220 clients are described as low or very low income by the Connecticut development block grant guidelines and live in subsidized housing.
Counseling: general counseling:of groups, families, and individuals with various problems jfs's licensed clinical therapists provide high quality, confidential counseling in a comforting enviroment.
Jewish Family Services of Greenwich is a non-profit social service agency serving the greater Greenwich community as well as state-wide Services. We provide behavioral health, older adult Services, legal immigration Services, and food insecurity support. Jfs of Greenwich is a refugee resettlement agency through hias (hebrew immigrant aid society) and actively partners with local social Services agencies to help families with economic challenges. Our counseling Services accept all major insurance plans. Older adult Services: Services include accompanying older and disabled abled to not urgent medical and mental health appointments. Clients receive support and follow up from their compassionate companion as they safely travel via transportation Services to appointments. This ensures clients attend their appointments and increase follow-up Services. Jewish health and healing: serves the entire community with friendly visits, holiday programming and spiritual support in relation to social emotional wellbeing. Learning opportunities provide people of all backgrounds with the opportunity to talk about the life cycle and learn ways to improve the quality of one's life.
