Nutritional school feeding and agricultural development: Forafrika's nutrition intervention aims to improve and monitor child nutrition, improve and monitor maternal nutrition, promote child protection, early childhood care and primary school education, and promote healthcare through nutrition. Malnutrition, caused by a lack of food and poor nutritional content in the diet, continues to be the biggest killer of children in africa which is why Forafrika focuses on food and nutrition assistance. Most are children who Forafrika reaches through school feeding programs and clinics, or outposts where Forafrika does malnutrition screening and care for acutely malnourished children. Forafrika also implements community agriculture initiatives for diversification of diets and to increase self-sustainability.
Training: Forafrika supported various training initiatives, including community management of acute malnutrition counselling and lectures in angola, vocational skills training in mozambique and uganda and business skills and financial literacy programmes in uganda, mozambique, rwanda and south sudan. 175,352 people benefitted from agricultural training in south sudan while 56,746 people benefitted from agricultural training in south sudan. Forafrika continued to support early child development caregivers training in rwanda where 4,304 caregivers were trained.
Water, sanitation & hygiene: as a basic human right that brings life, far too many communities in africa are at risk of death or disease without access to safe drinking water.
