Program areas at Jones Project

Based out of Topeka, Kansas, The Jones Project provides free motivational keynote presentations primarily to Kansas secondary students. We give actionable steps to students who are struggling while emphasizing the importance of specific mental health interventions already in place at their schools. Coach Damon Parker, the keynote speaker and executive director of The Jones Project, spent 21 years as a teacher, coach and professional speaker in Kansas and Missouri. He gives 60-minute presentations that are not only directed at students who are in crisis; they also are for those in the audience who don't have firsthand experience with mental health illnesses. Audiences are taugh not only to have empathy for their peers with mental health struggles, but "three critical steps" that will help everyone, regardless of where they are in their own mental health journey. During the year presentations were given to 96 schools, businesses, and other organizations.
