The Jose Wejebe-Spanish Fly Memorial Foundation honors Jose's legacy by matching his passion for conservation, education and making fishing dreams come true through contributions and grants to unrelated 501(c)(3) charitable organizations and granting fishing wishes to individuals with special needs. In 2022, the foundation took 12 fostered/at risk children out on the water for a day of education and fishing, and hosted 2 wish trips, including one for a nurse who worked around the clock saving lives.

Program areas at Jose Wejebe-Spanish Fly Memorial Foundation

Over the course of 2023 we took 2 foster/at risk children out on the water for a day of fishing, conservation education and fun. We also awarded 3 Fishing Dream Trips. The first was for the Wyatt family...their son Bode was diagnosed with leukemia. The next trip up was for the VanCleek family...their 14-month-old son Virgil was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a form of childhood cancer. Our last trip was for the Pink Ladies Fishing Team, a non-profit group founded by a woman with breast cancer and made up of other survivors and those affected by the disease.
