Program areas at Jubilee Community Arts
Concert series - presents & documents traditional performing Arts of the people of appalachia. Concerts are taped & broadcast on local radio.
Provides assistance and rehearsal, instruction, and performance space for about twenty affiliate groups in music, dance, poetry, prose and storytelling genres annually, most of who meet on a weekly basis. These groups support the mission and most feature live performance by local and regional artist.
Focuses on the presentation and documentation of traditional Arts outside the concert side. It includes field research, radio broadcasting, cd production and services in the field.
Serves as a host institution for tn folklore society. Activities include publishing semi-annual journal, maintaining database of members & operating files.
Series of teacher training workshops focusing on oral history, folklore, and interview techiques for traditional artist for work in the classroom and in the field.
