Juneau Dance Theatre

Jdt teaches various disciplines of Dance classes to approximately 160 students and holds public performances throughout the year. The school is comprised of four divisions of instruction: professional ballet, recreational Dance, competitive Dance team, and adult curricula provide students of all ages and levels of experience, the opportunity to recieve high quality instruction, and perform on stage. Our winter production of the nutracker ballet is provided free of charge to 1,200 elementary aged school children, and introduces the art of ballet to young children who might not otherwise have exposure to the art form. Two showcases (winter and spring) provide all Dance classes with a performance opportunity, which is critical for student of performing arts.

Promoting arts in the community by holding a youth fine arts camp. Instruction in performing and visual arts and music is provided to approximately 250 elementary age children, over a four week period for the purpose of enriching children's art experience. Tuition assistance and financial aid is available and provided to families based on financial need.
