Juneteenth Lehigh Valley recognizes the need to acknowledge the end of slavery in the U.S., celebrates the fortitude of African Americans who endured the ills of slavery, and educates the general public. They organized flag raising ceremonies in Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton and hosted a festival at the Arts Quest Center. The festival featured musical bands, film reviews, panel discussions, ethnic dance, poetry, historical menu tasting, and fine art exhibits.
