Program areas at Junior Achievement of Greater St Louis
Elementary school programs are designed to build economic literacy and show students the relationship between education and success in the workplace. Middle grades programs build on concepts the students learned in Junior Achievement's elementary school program and helps teens make important decisions about how to best prepare for their educational and professional future. The programs supplement standard social studies curricula and develop communication skills that are essential to success in the business world. Business volunteers serve as role continued on schedule omodels. They lead discussions and engaging activities, enriching the program with their own experiences and business knowledge. High school programs for students in grades 9-12 include economic, financial, and business curricula in school, and an after-school student-led enterprise. The dynamic interaction between ja volunteers and students promotes active learning and brings theory to life. The volunteers bring real-life business experience and guidance into the classroom at a time that represents an essential crossroads for young people. 143,774 students served.
Capstone program: provides experiential learning opportunities in a business marketplace setting. 15,905 students served.
