Program areas at Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg Mississippi
Backpack blessings is designed to provide nutrition to food insecure children when they are not able to receive meals at school. This project packages food into discreet bags and delivers to schools on a weekly basis. The school counselor then distributes to the children enrolled in the food program.
The girls only project is designed to help meet the feminine hygiene needs of teenage girls and women who might otherwise have to miss school, work, or other important events due to lack of these necessities. Ja members hold supply drives throughout the year to accumulate feminine hygiene products for distribution through edwards street fellowship and establish an ongoing "feminine hygiene products bank" to continuously provided to populations served by edwards street fellowship and to local schools.
Provide special request funding to assist with individuals with food, shelter, clothing, transportation, utilities, medical expenses, scholarships, and/or supplies for local underprivileged children.
