Program areas at Junior League of Panama City
Child service center program. In 1951 the Junior League of Panama City, Inc. Organized the child service center in an effort to provide clothing and hygiene items to under served children of bay county. The child service center program provides clothing and hygiene items to hundreds of bay county students each year. These children are then able to attend school with confidence, focus on their education, gain self-esteem, and give back to their community.
Girls on the run of bay county program. Girls on the run of bay county is sponsored locally by the Junior League of Panama City, Inc. Girls on the run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.
Excellence in education grant program. The Junior League of Panama City, Inc. partners with the bay education foundation to administer the excellence in education grant program. The excellence in education grants reward teachers for using creative learning techniques in the classroom, and affords students opportunities that could not be funded otherwise. Since the program's inception in 2008,over 200,000 has been awarded to the local educators in partnership with the bay education foundation and has impacted thousands of students within the clasroom.
