Just Economics

-Newly certified 65 businesses paying a living wage , adding to the largest voluntary living wage certification program in the country. -Graduated the first in person class of Voices for Economic Justice , since the pandemic, building up the leadership capacity of people living on a low-income. -Successfully advocated for living wages for City of Asheville and Buncombe County employees. -Successfully advocated for a raise for city bus drivers. - Partnered with Pisgah Legal Services to launch Tenants' Rights Workshops and begin our Tenants' Network. -Carried on the work of the Living Wage Coalition of Transylvania County, certifying more employers and working on a Paid Family Leave campaign.

-Continued to lead the Western Regional Coalition of Raising Wages NC, helped lead lead the campaign to raise the state minimum wage, and supported workers with Asheville Food and Beverage United, the National Nurses Union, Starbucks Workers, and Raise Up NC. -Continued the work of the Affordable Housing Strategy Team and Better Buses Together. -Hosted virtual and in-person educational workshops including a Worker's Rights training and our poverty simulation.
