Program areas at Justice for Families
Justice Reinvestment: Our Justice Reinvestment program focuses on directing resources toward empowering lived experience leaders and communities that have been affected by the various justice systems. This program revolves around supporting our community peer navigators, who play a vital role in providing families with access to resources and creating sustainable advocacy and support networks within their communities, extending beyond system involvement. The program is dedicated to reallocating financial resources to foster the growth and sustainability of grassroots organizations led by individuals with lived experience.
Training & Technical Assistance: Our Training & Technical Assistance program is focused on equipping professionals in child-serving agencies and organizations with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of the juvenile justice system and related fields. These professionals include judges, probation officers, detention staff, mental health providers, educators, youth advocates, and law enforcement personnel. Our participants represent a diverse range of backgrounds varying from education, age, race, ethnicity, and life experiences. To date, we have trained and engaged over 1,000 families and 7,000 system professionals nationally to provide
