Program areas at Justice for Greenwood Foundation

1) provided logistical, financial, narrative and organizing support for 7 active impact litigations including: public nuisance (reparations) case: dr. a.c. jackson probate and misappropriations case and a tribal and federal case regarding the restoration of black creek freedman rights. 2) launched advocacy campaign on a federal level for the u s department of Justice to investigate the massacre per the emmett till unsolved civil rights act of 2007; to lead the mass graves criminal investigation; and to protect black creek indians civil and citizenship rights as outlined in article 2 of the creek treaty of 1866. 3) organized three key campaigns - justiceforblackcreeks, anti-dna campaign, and dontdismussus (tulsa race massacre) - including education forums/rallies, digital petition drives, and peaceful protests at court hearings and trail. 4) executive director conducted over 250 print, radio, tv, public appearances, and/or podcast interviews to educate and inform the public about the fight for truth, Justice and reparations. 5) organized and hosted numerous town hall meetings, ig & twitter 'lives', and events to inform, educate, and mobilize the general public. 6) added an additional world-class genealogist to research, identify, and document the lineage of every individual and entity that experienced the massacre and its immediate aftermath. As a result, 55 members of the Greenwood descendant community were chronciled and 16 additional oral histories we collected in 2022. Note: chronicled means that the genealogists were able to locate their ancestor in Greenwood and the documentation/vital records provided a match.
