Kcpsfest is the annual back-to-school event through which community partners, local companies and volunteers donate time and dollars to help kcps students get ready for the start of school. Attendees receive backpacks, uniforms, free lunch, immunizations, sports physicals and more. Each year, kcps recognizes the best of team kcps during the teacher of the year celebration. The school nominates one teacher for consideration, and the Foundation provides a personal trophy, a traveling trophy for the teacher's school, and $5,000. Runners-up receive a trophy and $1,000 classroom grant.
The kcps instructional grants program empowers educators to innovate in the classroom by providing funding for creative projects. Through this program, teachers, librarians, and staff across the district can access resources to enhance student learning experiences. From classroom supplies to school-wide initiatives, we're committed to supporting impactful projects that benefit our students and community.
Teacher of the year: the kcps Education Foundation is the key sponsor for the annual teacher of the year celebration. Each kcps school nominates one teacher for consideration, and the Foundation provides a personal trophy, a traveling trophy for the teacher's school, and $5,000 to the district-wide winner. Runners-up receive a personalized trophy and a $1,000 classroom grant.
