Dataseam developed and manages a us department of labor-approved registered apprenticeship in information technology with local governance by the Kentucky education and labor cabinet, this 2-year compentency based- training requires coursework, on-job training, and mentoring as part of paid employment. Dataseam provides computers to participating Kentucky k-12 schools as part of workforce development initiatives. These computers are aggregated into a statewide network to create the dataseamgrid, providing high-performance cloud computing to help facilitate the innovation and commercialization of cancer therapeutics for the university of louisvilles brown cancer center. This capacity has historically reduced the cost and time to discovery for the research teams as well as provide the commonwealth an infrastructure advantage in the pursuit of additional federal research funding.
Dataseam provides industry-standard information technology certification for incumbent workers supporting Dataseam assets in Kentucky k-12 schools. This upskilling of the state workforce is part of growing these sectors in the state overall but specifically for public education, which is the predominant employer in most counties Dataseam serves. This training allows participants to maintain and/or seek increased employment. To date, Kentucky per capita has the largest number of certified systems engineers for the apple platform in the united states.
