Youth development - the ymca is committed to nurturing the potential of every child & teen. We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. That's why we help Young people cultivate the values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, and educational achievment. Our ymca programs such as child care, youth sports, and day camps, offer a range of experiences that enrich cognitive, social, physical, and emotional growth. Expenses include subsidies and direct financial assistance that make participation possible for Young people we engage. Our youth development programs at Kerr County ymca include:child care for school age children -- the ymca is dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable child care. As the nation's largest provider of child care programs, the ymca provides family-centered, values-based programs to nurture children's health development. Well-trained staff provide safe, affordable, high-quality care so you can have peace of mind while you work. The child care program is open to all, with financial aid available. Staff members are partners with parents and other caregivers, working together to help kids grow up healthy, happy and strong. We served approximately 86 children in our after-school program during 2022.youth sports -- the youth sports programs fill kids' discretionary hours with positive activities and caring adult attention. Coaches, always volunteers, including many parents, emphasize teamwork and cooperation over winning at any cost, developing good values over developing the next superstar. Sports programs are available to all kids without regard to their ability to pay. Approximately 780 children participated in our youth sports programs during 2022.day camps -- the Kerr County ymca day camps provide a full day (7:30-5:30) of recreational, educational and specialized care for youth in grades kindergarten through 5th. A variety of opportunities including group games, swimming, sports, arts and crafts, field trips, and other enrichment activities built around character development are offered during these day camp days. 28 children participated in the 2022 day camp program which enabled parents to continue working throughout the holidays and gave the children a chance to experience a positive environment while having lots of fun.
