Program areas at Keystone Opportunity Center
Housing - Keystone's housing department provides a mix of housing options to community members struggling with housing insecurity. Through a partnership with hud and montgomery county's your way home, Keystone Opportunity Center provides rapid re-housing and permanent supportive housing opportunities to the community. Keystone also provides 19 units of affordable housng opportunities to community members in need.
Food programs - Keystone's food programs offer community members struggling with food insecurity the resources needed to ensure they and their families have access to health food options, allowing their limited finances to be dedicated to housing security. Keystone's food pantry provides shelf- stable food, fresh produce, meat, dairy products and specialty foods. Keystone also operates a fresh for all program that distributes 5,500 pounds of fresh produce into the community every week.
Education - as one of only two title ii education programs in montgomery county, Keystone Opportunity Center offers a variety of educational opportunities that help people achieve their educational goals, allowing them to become more employable. These opportunities include english as a second language, high school equivalency, citizenship support and private tutoring.
Community services helps those in need to navigate various agencies and programs that may be able to assist them with their specific needs. We provide referrals or assistance with applications for programs that are both within Keystone and without. We also provide direct client assistance to address sudden, one-time expenditures that could end in homelessness if not addressed. Funding for direct client assistance is provided by grants and individual or organizational donations.
