Program areas at Kiddie Science
During 2021, we engaged the local community by providing free science mini kits multiple times per year with related printed and online resources to continue engaging young scientists.
Engaged with families online via live and pre-recorded lessons that engaged age 2 and up in hands-on science learning. All needed materials were included via a kit.
We engaged 180 families in hands-on online learning via Zoom for a variation of one-time, four to six-week immersive topic exploration. We focused on Earth science, physics, paleontology, chemistry, and much more. All needed materials were provided via a science kit, shipped via USPS.
The Kiddie Science Lab continues to be a hub for the community with outdoor book swaps, resource fairs, family science events, and more.
Kiddie Science presented school-wide after school science via Zoom, which included all materials via a kit.
The Brooklyn Chicken Club expanded its program offerings, its flock, and housing enclosure.
In order to better meet the needs of our young scientists, many of our outdated science materials were upgraded or replaced. Many of our materials are now multi-purpose and reusable, with a large number of materials being compostable.
