Program areas at King's Ridge Christian School
Founded in 2001, KRCS is an independent, multi-denominational Christian school in north metro Atlanta. Our college-bound students should be individually known for their unique gifts, talents, and learning styles. Students who are known are more encouraged in their academics and better understand how they can impact the world as they develop into self-directed learners, self-aware leaders, and self-confident servants.Students attend school on a 92-acre campus with separate facilities for Lower, Middle, and High Schools. The culture is one of trust and respect with an expectation of integrity with an Honor Code, community service at every grade level, mission trips, and student leadership opportunities. We challenge our students through a rigorous honors program, Advanced Placement curriculum, and pedagogy with a Christian focus. KRCS strives to develop the whole child academically, physically, spiritually, socially, and ethically.AccreditationSouthern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS)CogniaCouncil on Educational Standards & Accountability (CESA)Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC)MembershipsNational Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC)Southern Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC)Georgia Independent School Association (GISA)Association of College Counselors in Independent Schools (ACCIS)College BoardGeorgia High School Association (GHSA)Academic Graduation Requirements - 25 CreditsEnglish 4.0 Christian Education 3.5 Math 4.0 Fine Arts 1.0Science 4.0 Health/Nutrition 0.5Social Science 3.0 Physical Education 0.5World Language 3.0 Electives 1.5 Advanced Placement and Honors CoursesIn 2023, KRCS had (9th - 12th grade): - 21 AP Scholars - Granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. - 10 AP Scholars with Honor - Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. - 13 AP Scholars with Distinction - Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. The Class of 2023 overall pass percentage on AP Exams was 71%. CO-CURRICULAR OPPORTUNITIESThe KRCS co-curricular environment is a natural extension of the classroom. As a result, students gain skills through relevant and engaging activities. GEORGIA HIGH SCHOOL ASSOCIATION - KRCS is a member of Georgia High School Association, participating in various sports and activities such as literary and One Act play competition with the goal of reaching state-level competition while honoring God by using the talents He provides. ATHLETICS - Athletic participation includes varsity level programs built from foundational level rec style teams, starting in kindergarten. KRCS strives to train athletes to compete at the highest level, so the opponent knows they have given their opponent a great game at the end of the contest. Student-athletes may participate in any number of sports (football, volleyball, cross country, softball, swimming, basketball, baseball, tennis, golf, track & field, equestrian, lacrosse and soccer) over a 3-season schedule. When not actively competing, they commit to off-season conditioning and training through a custom-designed strength, conditioning, and agility program to be fully prepared for future success. This dedication to preparation has resulted in an ever increasing number of King's Ridge student athletes being pursued by college level programs.
